Southern Cross Catholic College is committed to its journey to strive for excellence in Indigenous Education through heightening cultural identity, maintaining high expectations, promoting active leadership and building strong community relationships.
The College provides a learning environment where unity in diversity is highly valued amongst all students. Pride in identity and a true sense of belonging is at the forefront of the whole College community's vision, mission and core values.
The sharing of indigenous culture and perspectives are proudly embraced by the whole College community and deeply embedded across all streams of the curriculum for the benefit of all students.
Each semester the latest news, events and achievements of our SCCC Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community are communicated in our Djam-gaYaalee newsletter.
The words 'Djam-ga' - meaning 'messenger' and 'Yaalee' - meaning 'circle' are traditional words from the GubbiGubbi language group. This newsletter is our community voice, or circle of communication for our students and families.
If there is something you would like to share with our community please email your ideas to our indigenous Teacher – Garanyali Unit, Ms Donna Elliott – firstname.lastname@example.org
