QISSN girls play with passion

The SCCC QISSN team has again done the College proud by taking part in the 2017 QISSN competition held at the Brisbane Sports Centre, Boondall.

Played over five days in the first week of the June holidays, the Queensland Independant Schools Secondary Netball (QISSN) competition saw 60 schools, with some of the top players in the state, come together to play some of the toughest netball the girls have ever experienced.

Our Southern Cross team played 13 tough games over the five days, finishing 6th in division 2 and 16th out of the 60 schools.

With a huge crowd of staff, parents and students past and present there to cheer on the team, the girls took lots of hits on the court in play which was intense and fierce.

We congratulate team coach Shannon Rogers and team Manager Tess Ryan, who have taken the team and developed it into the highly competitive team we have today.  With many Year 9 students forming part of the team this year, we are sure the growth potential of the girls will be outstanding.

The 2017 SCCC QISSN team consited of:

Gabby Donnelly, Mia Gregory, Jasmine O'Dwyer, Tasman Rogers, Caitlyn Ryan, Georgia Bull, Ellie Wade, Chloe Killalea, Emily Killalea, Lilly Mizuk, Jess Smithers and Chloe Buchan.

Well done girls. Your College is very proud.
