Students demonstrate extraordinary ability in Maths to receive competition distinctions.
Daniel Walker, Year 11 and Leo Favaretto, Year 9, recently demonstrated a very special ability in mathematics through achieving distinctions in the Australian Mathematics Trust Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition. This problem-solving competition is designed to encourage student curiosity and promote multiple modes of thinking in a stream of mathematics not usually taught in the curriculum due to its specialist nature. Students interested in trying this type of maths will have the opportunity to participate in the Bebras Australia Challenge in August. Congratulations to Daniel and Leo and we look forward to seeing more students taking this opportunity to extend their mathematics learning.
