Southern Cross Catholic College has introduced a morning bus service to link all four of its campuses. It is hoped the service will relieve pressure on busy parents. especially those who have children at both a primary campus at Woody Point or Kippa Ring and the secondary campus located at Scarborough.
Despite having many benefits, being a four campus community can prove difficult when a student moves to the secondary campus located at Scarborough and more than one drop-off is required..
College Business Manager, Mr Michael Cosgrove, said the service is currently a trial to see if demand warrants its full time introduction in 2021.
"We have been overwhelmed with interest from parents hoping to utilise the service to deliver their students safely to school.
"It is a free service to SCCC students and provides a solution to the problem some families have when it comes to transitioning to the high school, and that is transport to and from the secondary campus," Mr Cosgrove said.
"We hope to continue the service into 2021."
The morning service is in addition to the afternoon service which currently transports students between the campuses at Kippa Ring, Scarborough and Woody Point.
