Southern Cross Catholic College has a rich tradition of outstanding sporting achievement dating back to the coaching days of the De La Salle Brothers. The College has produced many national sporting heroes throughout the years; including Australian Rugby League representatives Petero Civoniceva and Michael Crocker, Australian Soccer representative Kate McShae and a number of Olympic swimmers such as Leisel Jones, Geoff Huegill, Tahnee White, Linda MacKenzie and Paralympian Blake Cochrane.
Today, students from all four campuses have the opportunity to benefit from the participation in sport at various levels and to pursue their interests in a wide range of individual and team sports which include swimming, triathlon, athletics, cross country, basketball, touch football, rugby league, cricket, AFL, netball, futsal and soccer.
Annual carnivals for swimming, athletics and cross country are held throughout the year from Prep - Year 12 and students in Year 7 to 12 compete in carnivals at district, regional, state and national levels.
The College is also a member of the South East Colleges Association (SECA) which was established to facilitate and promote a spirit of camaraderie, competitiveness and support among its co-educational college members.
