​Southern Cross Catholic College Kippa Ring Campus has formally farewelled long-serving employee, Mary Heckelmann, who has retired from BCE after 35 years of service - 30 of those at Southern Cross. 

Kippa Ring students and staff came together to give Mary a blessing and say farewell for this next exciting stage of her journey.

Following this, over 50 of Mary's current and past colleagues came together for a morning tea to reminisce about the memories shared with Mary and to wish her and her family well for her retirement.

Head of Campus, Mel Fallarino, said generations of Kippa Ring families knew Mary and would miss her presence. 

"Mary has been the smiling face in the office of our Kippa Ring Campus for​ families for 30 years. She was loved by staff and students alike and she is greatly missed. 

"On behalf of the SCCC community, we wish Mary health and happiness in her retirement and we want her to know our doors will always be open for her to visit," she said.
